The Competition

One of the main goals of UNIque Dance is integration of Same-Sex or Same-Gender couples in the 'regular' dance world and on dance competitions. To UNIque Dance integration is a two way street, so the IJsselcup is open for all couples. This is also common for all Dutch competitions. Of course the emphasis still lies on Same-Sex or Same-Gender couples. We will control the amount of mixed couples allowed to compete.

Adults and Seniors
Since the Eurogames 2005 were held in Utrecht, a new classification system was introduced: the senior class and the adult class. You can only enter the Senior class when you are 41 years or older. But it's not an obligation to enter the senior class and it's possible to enter only adults or both classes.

The Zwolse IJsselcup is using the same classification system. It is now possible to register for Adults, Senior or both classes. Only when there are enough registrations for the Senior class, the classification system will be maintained. If there are not enough registrations in Senior class, then everyone will dance in one and the same class.
